Nathan considers himself to be an “boomerang entrepreneur” and he moved home in May 2013 to launch Inhabitect, LLC. This company serves as an independent resource for designing, building and growing living architecture. He has worked throughout North America as well as internationally focusing on architecture, landscape architecture, horticulture, engineering, construction and manufacturing clientele. During his career he has worked at the forefront of the green stormwater infrastructure and landscape design industries and played a critical role in the design, development, sale, and construction of over 1,000 projects, mostly green roofs, across North America. As an accredited Green Roof Professional (GRP) and Certified Natural Shoreline Professional (CNSP) he actively works with his clients, the design community as well as policymakers on the benefits of adopting holistic, full site, green stormwater infrastructure practices. Nathan earned an Associate’s Degree in plant science from Northwest Michigan College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture and a certificate in landscape and nursery development from Michigan State University. Inhabitect was selected as the NW Michigan regions “Best Small Business Honoree for 2019” by the Michigan Small Business Development Center (SBDC).
