A few stats about the world of work in the US… Let these just sink in for a minute

  • Employee Disengagement Is Costing The US $550 Billion Per Year
  • 88% of employees don’t have passion for their work.
  • 70% of U.S. Workers Are Not Engaged at Work
  • 2/3 of today’s employees feel “overwhelmed.”
  • Only 40% of the workforce knew about their company’s goals, strategies, and tactics.
  • Companies with engaged employees outperform those without by up to 202%
  • $11 billion is lost annually due to employee turnover

Gallup surveys of American workers have consistently found that 70% of people are either disengaged at work, doing just enough to not get fired, or are actively sabotaging their employers.

If people can find a way to align work with their authentic selves and something they care about, and feel that their time at work means something more than just a job, they COME ALIVE.  They give 100% at work, their relationships improve and can transform communities.

Fulfillament is created by Chelsea Bay Dennis of Chelsea Bay Design and Shea Petaja

The COME ALIVE idea started long ago when Chelsea started working with folks who love what they do and make a difference while doing it. Fulfillament is her way of inspiring others to find that for themselves by hearing others personal life stories, and realizing we all have what it takes to create our own path to meaningful work.

She brought this inspiring storytelling idea to Shea while they both were earning their life coaching certifications back in 2014 – and there Fulfillament was launched. Chelsea and Shea are the yin and yang in their approach to life coaching and their individual careers. Chelsea, the entrepreneur, has had a clear, direct path using good-for-the-world design since early 2000’s, while Shea, the intrapreneur, loves to help clarify the heart of entrepreneurs and in turn maximize their business using her creativity and connections. A destination they both arrived at was the desire to bring clarity to others who want to find meaning in their work and live a life of intention.

CHELSEA: “My mission in life is to use what I’m good at and passionate about for good, and to inspire others to do what makes them come alive and make a difference in the world.” She manifests this as a graphic designer, video producer, coach/ consultant, speaker and event creator. She has been designing for environmentally and socially responsible entrepreneurs for close to 20 years. She also coaches/consults with those looking to create or find meaningful work that is aligned with their values, strengths, and what makes them come alive – from the inside out. Through all of her work, Chelsea empowers others to make ideas happen, be successful and make a difference. Having lived and traveled around the world, Chelsea chose to make Traverse City her home, the very place she started.

SHEA: As a creative and a life coach, she is a self-proclaimed relational strategist who connects with people for a purpose. Shea is endlessly curious about people and has dedicated her life’s work to preserving the art of conversation and engagement, which is the foundation of her one-on-one coaching work. A recovering evangelical, she brings spiritual undertones to her writing, thinking and humor. As a writer, she has contributed to Kinfolk, The Life Artist, Culture Keeper and her own blog. By day she is the Chief Experience Officer at Prout Financial Design where she also produces and co-hosts a weekly radio show. You will find her most alive when she is conversing with YOU! Quote to live by: “Be curious, not judgmental.” -Walt Whitman

“We have seen firsthand that when others do what makes them come alive, a huge difference is made in themselves and the world. We wanted to do something to inspire a community of people to love what they do.  Fulfillament is our way to do that. What better way to motivate folks to follow their passions and creating meaning in their work than to hear that others have done it. There is no formula to finding fulfilment. Trust the process and give yourself permission to be inspired.”

Fulfillament is more than storytelling, it’s a place to begin writing your own…
